Arlene Anderson is the Language Program Supervisor.  She coordinates and assists Health care providers and Non-English speaking, Deaf and hard of hearing patients who require interpreters for understanding medical services given at this hospital.  This service is not limited to American Sign Language interpreters.  It also includes foreign languages.  Interpreting services only includes the hospital; it does not include Physicians offices.
If you are Deaf or Hard of Hearing and will have a scheduled medical procedure (surgery, x-rays, ultrasounds etc…) at the hospital, please inform the health care provider or contact Arlene Anderson that you need an ASL interpreter.  She can be e-mailed or called via TTY to request an ASL interpreter.  Please e-mail or call with as much in advance possible; this will allow the interpreting department to schedule an ASL interpreter.  Provide information such as your name, contact information, the medical procedure with the date and time.  Interpreting Services hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 6:30 pm.  For ER visits please contact Interwest Interpreting directly.
