We are very excited to announce our first virtual Parent-Teacher Conference for families with Children who are Deaf, DeafBlind, Deaf plus and Hard of Hearing in partnership with Utah Schools for the Deaf, Utah Parent Center, EHDI (Early Hearing Detection and Intervention) and Parent Infant Program. This conference’s theme is “Engaging Families in Education”. This will take place on March 12-13, 2021 and some session topics will be as follows: Resources for families, IEP and advocacy, Interpreters and accommodations, Online teaching curriculum, panels of parents and youth with diverse backgrounds and Assistive technology. Some presenters are as following: Rachel Posner –a mother of two children, all of whom are deaf and she was featured on “Deaf Out Loud,” a documentary which aired on A&E, Katie Greene who works with Utah Parent Center and Utah Early Detection and Intervention Program, Esperanza Reyes -Director for Utah Parent Center, Rachel Coleman – Executive Director for American Society for Deaf Children, Chelle Wyatt and Sue Ordonez – our own hard of hearing specialists from our center and more!
